Snowmachiner dies from injuries in crash

HUGHES -- A 20-year-old man died Sunday from injuries suffered in a snowmachine
crash Friday, Alaska State Troopers reported.
Aaron L.T. Ambrose was driving a friend's Polaris snowmachine down a road in Hughes
when he struck a parked snowmachine, troopers said. Ambrose was thrown from his
snowmachine and suffered serious head injuries. Troopers said he was not wearing
a helmet.
A passer-by found Ambrose lying on the roadway, unconscious. A village health aide
and others took him to the Hughes Clinic, where he was treated before being flown
to the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage.
He died at about 11 a.m. Sunday.
